Overview
The Carolina Panthers Rock Hill Development was envisioned as the team's new headquarters and a world-class regional sports complex on a 200-acre site. Designed by Populous, the $1 billion facility encompassed new headquarters offices, an indoor practice facility, outdoor practice fields, and a pavilion with two 80-foot tall operable glazed doors that could open to integrate indoor and outdoor spaces for events, concerts, and championship games.
The design drew inspiration from South Carolina quarries and Rock Hill's local character, with canted glass walls, articulated metal panels, and LED displays at the entrance, culminating in peaked rooflines.
